I am a scientist in the biomedical field and a father of a severely autistic (not anymore) child who is two and a half years old. The diagnosis of autism at 20 months of his age devastated us. We started noticing that something is not right with our son and since then I have been looking for an answer. Navigating Autism and associated treatment was not easy. We were basically told that it is genetic and can not be fixed. Behaviour, occupational and speech therapy is the way to go with no guarantee in result. We did start all those therapies with no improvement and everyone kept telling my son is still young and we should wait and watch. But at the same time we understood that early and right intervention is important. My son had typical autism behaviour, He wasn’t speaking a single word. He could only babble one consonant “wa wa”. Absolutely no eye contact. When irritated knocked his head on floor and wall. He would refuse all food except milk. It was even a struggle to feed him baby cereals. Absolutely no fruits. He wouldn’t sleep more than 5-6 hrs waking up at least 2-3 times and we had to feed him milk to help him fall asleep again. Our life was mess and I could clearly see that my child is suffering. I needed to find a solution ASAP. I did consult many Dr. in North America and India and realized that Dr. do not know much about autism and there is hardly any approved treatment.
